- Do you run a shuttle service from the Savannah Airport?
- Yes, we run a door-to-door shuttle service to/from the Savannah Airport to destinations in Bluffton and Hilton Head Island. The shuttle service is a shared ride service (there will be other passengers traveling on the vehicle).
- What areas do you service?
- We service Bluffton/Hilton Head Island, SC and Savannah, GA.
- Do I need a reservation?
- Reservations are strongly recommended to insure seating on the next available shuttle.
- What information will I need in order to make a reservation?
- For arrival reservations, we require exact flight information (on the last leg of your itinerary into Savannah only) including carrier and flight number. We also require a credit card as well as the exact destination address. For departure reservations, we require flight information, credit card, pickup address and a cellular or local phone number.
- How far in advance do I need to make my reservation?
- Reservations are required at the very least 24 hours prior to arrival and at the very most, a few weeks prior.
- Why is it so important that I give my flight number?
- Our shuttles are based on flights, not times. We track flights and want to insure that a shuttle is still available should your flight be delayed. If your flight number changes all- together, it is important that you keep the dispatch office informed by calling 1-800-845-5582.
- What happens if my flight is delayed, cancelled or changed?
- We have a dispatcher on duty 24 hours per day. It is imperative that you keep us posted of your travel updates by calling 1-800-845-5582.
- Do you pickup for very early departures and very late arrivals? What are your hours of operation?
- We are open 365 days per year, 24 hours per day. We can accommodate early departures and drivers start picking up at island addresses as early as 2:00 a.m. However, we do not provide shuttle service for flights arriving after midnight; Late flights are accommodated in a private vehicle starting at $75 (not including fuel surcharges, gate fees or suggested 20% gratuity)
- Where is the shuttle pickup at the Savannah Airport?
- At the Savannah Airport we have a counter located in North Baggage Claim. The counter reads, "Low Country Adventures, Ltd.", "Gray Line" and "Welcome to Hilton Head Island". The counter is also located next to the Enterprise Rental Car counter. Guests with a reservation on the shuttle service must check in to the counter prior to collecting luggage.
- How much is the shuttle service from the Savannah Airport?
- The shuttle service starts at $38 one-way, $66 round trip for one person including all fuel surcharges. The only thing this price does not include is gate fees ($1 to $2 per reservation depending upon which plantation the guest is going to) or a driver gratuity. We give discounts for more than one person traveling together on the same reservation with the same method of payment. Rates are subject to change at any time and subject to a plantation gate surcharge or fuel surcharge.
- How often do you run the shuttle from the Savannah Airport to Hilton Head?
- We depart the Savannah International Airport approximately 17 times daily. The shuttle departures are based on groupings of flights arriving within 20 minutes of each other.
- How long will I have to wait at the Airport?
- After the reservations have checked in off of the particular flight(s) that the shuttle is scheduled for, the shuttle will depart the airport. Shuttle departures are based on groupings of flights arriving within 20 minutes of each other.
- What kind of vehicle is the shuttle?
- Depending upon the number of reservations, the vehicle will either be a van or a minibus.
- How long is the drive from the Savannah Airport to Hilton Head Island?
- The shuttle service drive is approximately 1 hour from the Savannah Airport to the Hilton Head Bridge. There could be several drop off's prior to arriving at your location. For locations on the south end of Hilton Head Island, transit time for the shuttle service can take up to 2 and ½ hours or more.
- What if I don't want to take the shuttle service, do I have other options?
- We offer private car service starting at $75 (not including fuel surcharges, gate fees or suggested 20% gratuity)
- If I book a private van ride service, sedan or limousine service from the Savannah Airport, where will I meet the driver?
- The driver will meet you at the entrance to baggage claim with a sign with your name (or company name). If you do not see the driver, please check in at our counter located in North Baggage claim next to the Enterprise Rental Car counter.
- Why such an early pickup time to go back to the airport?
- Since we are a shuttle service, departure pickups can be as much as 3 hours in advance of the flight because there are numerous pickups that we have to accommodate for. If the pickup time is a concern, we suggest making a reservation for a private sedan, van, limousine or minibus ride back to the airport starting at $75 (not including fuel surcharges, gate fees or suggested 20% gratuity)
- If I take a private van, sedan or limousine back to the Savannah airport, how much time should I allow?
- Typically leaving 2 hours in advance to the flight departure time will ensure at least an hour check in at the Airport prior to departure. Time of day and time of year are two considerations in making the pickup time more than 2 hours in advance.
- Is the tip included for the shuttle service?
- For the shuttle service, the tip is at the customer's discretion. For sedan and limousine service, the 20% suggested gratuity is included in the cost.
- When booking the reservation online why is the pickup time the same as the flight arrival time?
- This is just the way our reservation program works. We realize that it will take some time to get through the arrival gate as well as to walk downstairs to check into our booth. The shuttle will not leave until the reservations have checked in.
- Can I pay cash?
- When making a reservation a credit card must be given. We prefer that you leave the reservation on your credit card.
- Can I use my debit card?
- No, please do not use your debit card. Prior to travel, we authorize cards for 20% more than the actual fare. Most banks (debit cards) place a 10-day freeze on accounts for funds that are authorized and customers using debit cards find this is an inconvenience.
- What credit cards do you accept?
- We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.
- How are the credit card charges shown on my statement?
- Your card is authorized prior to travel. Final charges are not processed until several days after travel and may appear on your statement as two different charges. Please add the two charges together for your final fare. Charges will appear on your credit card statement reading, "Low Country Adventures, Ltd".
- Do you provide car seats?
- Yes, we provide car seats upon request.
- Is there a charge for pets?
- Reservations requiring pets must travel on a private ride unless the pet is a working animal. We do not allow pets to travel on our shuttle service. Guests traveling with pets must book a private sedan, van, limousine or minibus ride back to the airport starting at $75 (not including fuel surcharges, gate fees or suggested 20% gratuity).
- Do you have handicapped accessible vehicles?
- Yes, but only upon request. We prefer that you call for reservations at 1-800-845-5582 to request a handicapped accessible vehicle.
- Do you run a shuttle service from the Hilton Head Airport?
- We do not provide a shuttle service from the Hilton Head Airport. We provide sedan, limousine and van service at $50.00 (not including fuel surcharges, gate fees or 20% suggested gratuity. Reservations are required for all services to/from the Hilton Head Airport.
- If I take a private van, sedan or limousine back to the Hilton Head airport, how much time should I allow?
- Usually 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to flight departure is a sufficient pickup time for the Hilton Head Airport.
- Where will the driver meet me in the Hilton Head Airport?
- The driver will meet you at the entrance to baggage claim with a sign with your name (or company name).
- How much will I save by booking my reservation online?
- You will save approximately 1-2 dollars on a round-trip shuttle service to/from Savannah when booking online. You will not save any money if you are booking a one-way shuttle.
- What is the cancellation policy?
- We require 3 hours notice for cancellation. Please call 1-800-845-5582 or locally at 843-681-8212 to cancel. The reservationist will provide you with a cancellation number; Please insure prior to hanging up the phone that you receive one.
